Our Music
Our live sets currently feature all original music. These songs are all instrumental and feature many improvisational/jam sections that vary from show to show. We find this to be super fun and rewarding, as we are always playing around with new ideas and keeping things fresh and new! On occasion, we will also include a horn section to our sets, adding a whole new layer of instrumentation.
We describe our music as somewhere in between jazz, funk, and progressive, all fused together. We have improvisational elements, like those found in jazz, hard hitting grooves, like funk, and lots of intricate details and complex melodies, like progressive. While it's hard to describe, it comes together in a way that makes perfect sense when we play together.
Our newest single:
Yard Sale
Yard Sale represents an interesting shift in our songwriting style. In our earlier writing, we typically used a traditional jazz structure with a head, improvised solo section, and then a return to the head.
Although improvisation has always been integral to our songwriting process, we wanted Yard Sale to emphasize a “less is more” approach with a focus on a hypnotic groove and a more conventional song structure.
LOWBOY: Live at Gamma Ray
A live album showcasing our energy at live shows
Released in October 2025, this live album highlights one of our favorite shows from the past year. While we have grown and changed since this time, we feel this can give listeners a feel for the energy we bring to live shows. It includes all originals, as well as fun improvised sections in-between.
